Driving through the Hampshire countryside near Reading, I couldn't help but notice autumn starting to creep in as I headed to Laura and Chris's wedding day at Silchester Farm. What a spot! This Silchester Farm wedding venue is seriously cool, and you could tell the couple had put their hearts into every little detail.
Chris was looking pretty dapper in his black tie get-up, but Laura... wow. Her dress was something else - all flowy and graceful. It suited her perfectly for their big day at this incredible place.T
hey chose one of Silchester Farm's barns for the ceremony, and let me tell you, it was rustic charm meets elegance. The Wessex Flower Company had gone all out with the flowers - so many colours! Laura and Chris said their vows under these amazing floral arches, grinning from ear to ear. Then came the confetti moment in the courtyard - talk about a burst of colour!
Now, here's where it got interesting. We snuck off for some portraits, and wouldn't you know it, the sky opened up! We ended up dashing to this old Dutch barn nearby. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise - the light in there was incredible. We thought we'd outsmarted the rain, but it caught us on the way back. We got a bit soggy, but couldn't stop laughing about it.
The rain did make for some pretty spectacular lighting though. One minute it was pouring, the next there were these amazing sunbeams breaking through the clouds. Made this Silchester Farm wedding venue look almost magical.
The reception was in the cow shed (yes, really!) and it was brilliant. Laura and Chris's entrance was epic - they danced in while everyone waved their napkins like crazy. The speeches had us all in stitches one minute and reaching for tissues the next. The team at Silchester had set everything up beautifully for the wedding breakfast.
Oh, and I finally got to use this spot I've been eyeing up for ages - a road lined with pine trees leading to Silchester Farm. Got a great shot of Laura and Chris walking there. One of my favs.
Some of my favourite bits? Chris rocking out with the band at the end of the night, bridesmaids doing shots while serenading guests (hilarious), and the groom's mum making friends with a very sociable pig during a visit to the farm animals.
The wedding breakfast was pretty epic too - everyone was raving about it. As the night went on, out came the fancy dress stuff. Before long, the dance floor was full of people in feathers, hats, and all sorts of crazy outfits.
You know, watching Laura and Chris throughout their wedding day, you could just tell how mad they are about each other. Every little look and touch just said it all. The party went on late into the night, with the band keeping everyone on their feet. Laura and Chris were right in the thick of it, surrounded by their mates and family, having the time of their lives.
Looking back at the photos, I'm thinking Silchester Farm weddings might just be my new favorite thing! From those gorgeous flowers at the ceremony to the speeches in the cow shed and the mad party afterwards, it was a day that was 100% Laura and Chris. The team at Silchester really know how to make it the perfect place for a celebration.
I hope you enjoy taking a browse through Laura & Chris’ Silchester farm wedding. If you love this then definitely go check out Jojo & Marley’s river wedding in Windsor or another black tie wedding in Devon.
